The Faculty of Crisis, Conflict, and Humanitarian Counseling at the Chartered Institute of Counseling in Nigeria (CICN) trains professionals to respond effectively and compassionately to individuals, families, and communities navigating the most challenging moments of their lives. Our mandate is to equip counselors with the expertise to address grief, trauma, conflict, displacement, and humanitarian emergencies with both skill and cultural sensitivity.

Our programs integrate crisis intervention models, trauma-informed care, conflict resolution, bereavement support, and humanitarian response frameworks, ensuring that graduates are prepared for both immediate interventions and long-term recovery planning. Students gain proficiency in working with survivors of natural disasters, armed conflict, gender-based violence, forced migration, and other life-altering events.

Through experiential learning, simulated crisis scenarios, and supervised field placements, students develop practical skills in assessment, stabilization, counseling, and advocacy.
