  • Students enrolled in CICN diploma or professional certification programmes.
  • Undergraduate and postgraduate students studying Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education, Human Development, Nursing, or related behavioural sciences.
  • Students from approved partner institutions.
  • International students seeking supervised counseling exposure in Africa.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Have completed the required theoretical coursework.
  • Demonstrate satisfactory academic standing.
  • Be a registered CICN student or approved affiliate.
  • Agree to abide by the CICN Code of Ethics.
  • Join CICN student membership(irrespective of studying at CICN or not)
  • Maintain strict confidentiality throughout the programme.
  • Show professionalism, emotional maturity, and willingness to learn.

Practicum Duration

Attend a screening interview or orientation session.

Receive placement approval and supervisor assignment.

Participate in the mandatory Practicum Orientation Programme.

The Partnership Process

  1. Submit an expression of interest to CICN.
  2. Meet with our Academic and Professional Training Department to discuss your institution’s practicum requirements.
  3. Execute a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlining responsibilities and expectations.
  4. Nominate eligible students for placement.
  5. Students complete orientation before commencing practicum.
  6. CICN provides ongoing supervision, evaluation, and feedback throughout the placement.
  7. Final assessment reports and completion documentation are issued to both the institution and participating students.
