The Chartered Institute of Counseling in Nigeria conducted a student-focused mental health awareness and emotional wellbeing training for students of Girls Grammar School, Lagos.
“Mental Health Awareness and Emotional Wellbeing Training for Students.”
The training was designed to address the emotional, psychological and social needs of students, providing them with practical tools for navigating academic pressure, relationships and personal challenges.
The programme combined mental health education, emotional-awareness exercises, peer discussions and practical scenarios to improve students’ coping skills, encourage healthy emotional expression and reduce the stigma associated with seeking psychological support.
The four-hour programme reached 53 students between JSS2 and SS3, with an average age range of 12–17 years and a recorded attendance rate of 93%.
