About the Event
The Chartered Institute of Counseling in Nigeria was engaged by the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency to deliver a corporate training on effective co-parenting.
“Effective Co-Parenting: Supporting Families, Reducing Conflict and Prioritising the Well-being of Children.”
The training was designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to support families, particularly in situations involving separation, conflict or shared parenting responsibilities.
Given DSVA’s role in handling sensitive family-related cases, the programme focused on strengthening staff capacity to promote healthy co-parenting practices, improve communication between parents and reduce the negative impact of parental conflict on children.
The programme emphasized child-centred decision-making, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, professional mediation and practical approaches for supporting children through family separation.
